THE ROLE OF AWARENESS IN SECOND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

FEEDBACK
Through the article worked according to (Allport, 1989, p.631). Attention issues "affect all areas of cognitive science" because it is linked to the aspects of behavior and learning necessary for the storage of long-term memory.
Cognitive psychology and cognitive science are important in the acquisition of a second language presenting a variation in the precision, fluency and complexity of speech in a second language in different environments, and the effects on the performance of tasks require attention special in the students.
The lack of attention affects the quality of perception and attention of the students through memory and the attention mechanisms that are used to select to mentally rehearse the information in the study of the second language.
There are also two important parts to emphasize that are attention mechanisms and the use of learning that study different levels:
Neurobiological level (Schumann, 2004), is the research that uses functional magnetic resonance (FMRI) shows changes in areas of neural activation.
Response to visual objectives (Posner & Peterson, 1990). One of the objectives of research at this level is to show how attention networks in the brain give rise to consciousness, subjective sensation.
In summary, the role of awareness in the acquisition of a second language is to promote greater understanding that can potentially contribute to the development of and language learning.

Hello Leonardo, reviewing your participation on the article called The role of awareness in second language development, it seems to me that the explanation of the qualitative method is very well focused, taking into account that you explain the relationships of different models of the relationship of attention and memory, which takes into account the beliefs of the author and the different theories established and accepted by the research community.
This article highlights awareness and learning as important factors in learning a second language, referenced from different theories, especially Schmidt's theory, which shows that these characteristics directly influence attention and also in learning and acquisition of a second language.
In general your explanation is very well founded and is clear, good Job.

FEEDBACK
According to the article, I think that it has an interesting topic because shows something that is very important when someone is reading and it is the comprehension that we may have.
Until now, there were some aspects that for me were known but I did not recognize them. Those facts are: two kinds of information involved in reading, as they are mentioned in the article visual information and non-visual information.
About the first aspect I can say that is important to have it in mind, however, I think that the second part could be considered as the key in some situations because it is the previous knowledge that we have about the topics, for example tests, reading that we may need to do to face job interviews or university interviews.
In addition, the first fact may have more importance when we are only reading a book, or any other text.

Finally, I think that learn to have a good reading comprehension is the key at any activity that any person will be into during their life.

THE USE OF GRAMMAR TRANSLATION METHOD IN TEACHING ENGLISH

FEEDBACK

Nowadays it is a reality that many books, journals, TV programs among many other things are coming in English due to the fact that English is bringing to the world. Also, this language has taken an important role as a second language in many non-native English speakers’ countries, for example, take Colombia as an example, it is common to find many people listening to music in English, reading books in English or people is doing English courses because they want to go to another country as a tourists or students.

And the method that is used in many places is grammar translation method, it is a method that can be criticized because speaking can be left aside or listening but the method itself is good. The reason to do it is because in my point of view is that the main point is grammar and as long as a person has a good grammar skill can be able to speak, read and listen to English in a way that no one can even imagine.

Dear Norma the audio is not clear, so it was difficult to comprehend your analysis, however it is well known that Grammar translation method was a popular method in early XX century; it was a kind of conductism to transmit knowledge to students who played a passive role in the process of learning.
It is important to take into account that the results of this method could be assessed in a qualitative form, since, teachers and students are involved in the process, so, they are the protagonist of changes, achievements and target of learning language. Despite being a rigorous and vertical method, it aims to achieve a right development of language skills in students, so attitudes, behaviors are required to evaluate the outcomes.

Thanks for your attention,

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 5E MODEL STAGES TO BUILD STUDENTS' VOCABULARY.

FEEDBACK
Cesar,
Reading the article, I saw many things that at first sight seem interesting, as far as I could understand this is a new method for teaching English, even more when it has been implemented in some school to teach the other subjects.
Also, I saw that this method use in some stage the constructivism method which give the student to expand their vocabulary, therefore the students do not have restriction to get the knowledge, the knowledge is just adjusted to their efforts.
As far as I can understand from this article, it wants to let the whole community know that there is a method of teaching English that can be used. Also, I saw that the researcher need some time to get the results because it was used classroom action research as the qualitative methodology.
Also, I could see that if someone need to implement this method, it will require 5 different stages, the material should be adjusted to the student's needs, and the time needs to be adjusted to the activities.

However, the best part to know it is that is a method that will increase the student's vocabulary, and the students will learn it easily because they had been motivated to do so.
